12th scale Filligree Pelmets
The Filligree pelmet box is an impressive eighteenth-century carving, the original design came from Slane Castle in Ireland but was most likely originally carved in Florence.
The other pelmet with the central cartouche (AD) is available in another listing. 
 
Important notes regarding the casting.
The filligree ends on the small pelmet are different. We did not notice until after we had made quite a few of them!! Visually is does not notice unless pointed out but the ends can be clipped so they match. 
There is a length of pewter running along the back which was designed to be folded down. Unfortunately we were generous with our fold thickness and it is ot easy to bend so you may wish to remove it using a stanley knife - a few heavy sliced and then bend back and forth to snap off. Alternativly using a dremmel you can create a channel making the thickness of the bending section thick enough to bend but not too thin so it snaps off. 
 
To attach the pelmet to the wall, after removing the excess pewter, you can make a simple card or wooden 2 open sided box and glue your curtains to the box - glue the box to the wall and glue the pelmet to the box!
 
There are two Sizes:
Small
External Size: 15mm deep x 25mm high x 137mm long
Internal size 11mm deep x 22mm high x 128mm long
 
Large
External Size: 32mm high x 16mm deep x 140mm long
Internal Size: 30mm high x 13mm deep x 128mm long
 
 
Notes
The kit is made from Pewter alloy (no lead) and is a very soft metal. If any part of the kit is slightly bent please just bend it back into shape. You may need to wiggle it slightly by hand.
All kits are fresh from the moulds and require a certain degree of tidying up. You will need to use a pair of fine snips and a miniature file to remove and smooth any casting spurs. 
We advise that all metal kits are painted with a metal primer before painting. We use a metal spray primer as it avoids lumps and brush marks. 
We monitor stock levels of the items but occassionally we shall run low which means making more and this might delay the despatch date by a few weeks. If this is an issue please let us know.
